10 Raw Videos That Changed The World, On The Anniversary Of Occupy Wall Street

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street.  One year ago today, protesters took to Zuccotti Park to fight for social and economic equality.  Social media and web video were driving forces in catapulting the Occupy Wall Street movement into international headlines and, to this end, Link TV News has put together a video compilation of the “10 Raw Videos that Changed the World” to celebrate the #OWS anniversary.

Link TV News’ mission is to “offer video as an entry point to seeing the world from different points of views.”  They link to videos and articles around the web to provide news hounds with a more complete view of what’s going on in the world.

This video compilation counts down some of the most influential citizen journalist videos the world has seen, from footage of the 2005 London bombings, the execution of Saddam Hussein, Occupy Wall Street, the YouTube video of the death of Neda Aghan-Soltan, which spawned worldwide support following the 2009 Iranian election, the London Riots, the Japanese tsunami and more.

A voiceover explains the background behind each of the videos.  I think it’s a great example of just how powerful online video, social media and citizen journalism have become in enabling us to see firsthand what’s happening around the globe.  Check it out and let us know what you think.
