Dude, you’re Tweeting a Dell? The computer manufacturer said in its corporate blog that it posted $2 million in sales from offering refurbished systems through Twitter at @DellOutlet, as well as $1 million more from Web surfers who move to the Dell site from Twitter, InformationWeek reported.
Twitter has yet to establish a business model for capitalizing on Tweet money, but the social-networking site told InformationWeek it plans to help businesses sell and promote via its network, and it aims to profit from searching its real-time messages.
@DellOutlet is one of the 50-most-follwed Twitter users, with more than 600,000 followers, according to InformationWeek.
