Mark Coker, founder of digital publishing site Smashwords: “Mark Coker founded Smashwords in 2008 to change the way books are published, marketed and sold. In June, 2010, The Wall Street Journal named Mark one of the ‘Eight Stars of Self-Publishing.’”

Jane Friedman, CEO/cofounder of digital publisher Open Road Integrated Media. This former HarperCollins CEO founded  OpenRoad, one of the leading digital publishing companies in the business. Friedman has won a number of awards, including being, “Publishers Weekly’s 2006 Person of the Year; named one of The Wall Street Journal’s 50 Women to Watch; selected as one of Fast Company’s Fast 50; and was featured in New York Magazine’s The Influentials.”

Molly Barton, Global, Digital Director at Penguin, Barton founded Book Country, Penguin’s online editing and self-publishing community. Barton is also credited with developing Penguin’s eSpecial program; expanding Penguin’s relationship with Starz Television Network; and developing interactive book apps like Jack Kerouac’sOn the Road app for the iPad.

Andrew Savikas, CEO of Safari Books Online. An eBook veteran, Savikas led digital publishing for O’Reilly Media as VP of Digital and served as program chair at the TOC conference. Here is more from his website: “He sits on several boards, including the Book Industry Study Group, and is on advisory boards for Bookshare and the University of Michigan Press.”

Jesse Potash, founder of Pubslush, a digital social networking publisher that lets readers decide what books get published. On top of that, they donate books to needy children for every book they sell.
