YouTube will release its Call-to-Action Overlay Tuesday, which allows paying YouTube advertisers to place a semi-transparent pop-up over their videos that links viewers to another Website, TechCrunch reported.
The only way to promote another site on YouTube previously was to include the URL as a link in the summary at the right-hand side of the page, which didn’t draw the attention of most users, TechCrunch pointed out.
The Call-to-Action Overlay is available free-of-charge to paying YouTube advertisers on videos entered into YouTube’s CPC Promoted Videos program.
