ABC-Family-Logo080410.jpg ABC Family is the latest television network to release a co-viewing application for the Apple iPad. The channel has announced its “Chatterbox” app, which is designed to be used while programs like “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “Make it or Break it” air on the network.

“The ABC Family Chatterbox app reflects the network’s mission to connect with our Millennial viewers through emerging social media platforms that enhance their viewing experience,” says Beth Johnson, Vice President, Digital Media, ABC Family announcing the app. “We know our audience puts a high value on community and engagement, and this app allows them to use iPad to interact with each other about the network’s programming in an innovative way.”

Of course, for users that miss an episode, there will be opportunities to discuss the programs even when they aren’t airing.

The Chatterbox app is the latest effort from the Disney-ABC Television Group, which has already released two high quality media apps. The ABC app, which has full episodes and clips from ABC shows, and the ABC News app, which features content from ABC News.

Fellow cable network Bravo launched a co-viewing iPad app of its own yesterday.
