From the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” file, ABC News has launched a branded channel on YouTube. The channel will include breaking news, highlights from interviews, and portions of news programs “Good Morning America,” “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Nightline,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” and “20/20.”
“We look forward to expanding our on-line audience for ABC News reporting on our new YouTube channel,” said David Westin, President, ABC News in a statement. “ABC News audiences will now be able to watch us on one of the top video portals on the Internet.”
Last week, ABC’s parent company Disney announced it had purchased 30% of Hulu.com, allowing for ABC shows to be part of that video site’s lineup.
