Hi ThinkMobile readers - all the great mobile apps, devices and reviews are now a part of mediabistro's SocialTimes.com. Thanks for reading!

It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating: iPhone users really love their Web surfing. And AdMob has the numbers to prove it.

The mobile ad marketplace said that the increase in traffic to iPhones over the past few months has been “explosive.” Since the iPhone first appeared a year ago, AdMob‘s iPhone ad network has served up more than 249 million ads worldwide.

Last month, the network served 51.8 million ads to iPhones worldwide, up 32% from the 39.1 million served in May. The US alone accounted for 34 million of the iPhone ad deliveries in June.

“The usage patterns on next generation devices are terrifically exciting – we served nearly a quarter-billion ads on the iPhone in its first year in the market,” AdMob CEO Omar Hamoui said in a statement. “We expect that the iPhone and devices like it will be an enormous catalyst for the mobile media business.”
