
MediaPost is reporting that AdMob, the mobile advertising network, raised $15.7 million in a third round of funding, bringing its total to just over $34 million to date.
The company said that it has more than tripled the number of ads served on its network in the last year to 4.5 billion as of September, according to the report. “It now sells banner and text ads on 6,000 mobile sites, and handles mobile campaigns for advertisers including Cover Girl, Toshiba and Comedy Central.”
Recently, AdMob launched a free mobile analytics service as well as an iPhone-specific ad unit.
