Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush Joins FoxNewsLatino.com

FNC072810.bmp Fox News Channel’s upcoming Latino-targeting website, FoxNewsLatino.com has named Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush as its senior editor.

Vourvoulias-Bush was most recently Corporate Executive Editor of impreMedia, overseeing brands such as El Diario/La Prensa and La Opinion. he has also worked at Time Magazine’s Latin American edition, and was a research associate on Latin America for the Council of Foreign Relations.

“Alberto’s extensive experience in the Latino media market will serve as a major asset to the launch of FOXNewsLatino.com this fall,” said Michael Clemente, Senior Vice President of News Editorial, FOX News, announcing the hire.

FOXNewsLatino.com, set to debut this Fall, has named Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush as its Senior Editor, announced Michael Clemente, Senior Vice President of News Editorial, FOX News.

In making the announcement, Clemente said, “Alberto’s extensive experience in the Latino media market will serve as a major asset to the launch of FOXNewsLatino.com this fall.”

Vourvoulias-Bush most recently served as Corporate Executive Editor of impreMedia where he planned online, multimedia and print editorial strategy for all impreMedia news brands including La Opinion of Los Angeles, El Diario/La Prensa of New York and their online news sites. He joined El Diario/La Prensa in 2005 serving as its Executive Editor overseeing the growth in the paper’s readership in print and online. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Editor of TIME Magazine’s Latin America Edition and Director, TIME Americas. There he assisted in managing the launch of TIME Magazine’s Spanish and Portuguese language weekly supplements.

Before serving as an editor in various platforms, Vourvoulias-Bush applied his practical knowledge of the Latino American community as a Research Associate on Latin America for the Council of Foreign Relations commissioning working papers from leading U.S. and Latin American policy analysts and academics.

A graduate of Yale University and University of Pennsylvania, he authored The City and The World: New York’s Global Future co-edited with Margaret E. Crahan (1997). In addition, he has written numerous pieces in TIME Magazine, ARTNews, Capital among others for more than two decades. In 2008 he was awarded second place in the National Association of Hispanic Publications Award for Editorial Writing and in 2007 he was honored as a Hispanic Media Awards honoree. He also received the 2007 Latin Pride National Award for Excellence in Journalism.
