Alfred for iPhone Learns About You to Suggest Places to Go

The free Alfred for iPhone app is a personal robot according to its developers. You provide it with information about a few of your favorite places. It combines this with location, time and intent to offer personalized and situation specific suggestions of other places to go.

Teaching Alfred about likes and dislikes continues as the app is used. The app also tracks places you go to and lets you rate new places. Places can also be rated while browsing through a suggestion list. Searching for places can include specific information such as the availability of outdoor sitting. Summaries, based on existing reviews, are available for places suggested to you.

If you have a Facebook account, the app can work with it to ask Facebook friends for advice by commenting on the app’s place page.

The app currently focuses on places in the U.S. The “What’s New” information for the most recent update suggests that iPad support is in development and may be available soon.
