MP3 players were ho-hum toys with no real focus until Apple introduced the iPod and the iTunes store. eBooks were considered a conceptual failure for nearly a decade until Amazon showed everyone how to execute the concept correctly with their Kindle ebook reader and the Amazon Kindle ebook store. The soon-to-be-available Apple iPad may redefine or, at least, refine the definition of the ebook market by providing a mass market device that is also a color ebook reader.
