Amazon has introduced a new program for developers that optimize their apps for Amazon’s Appstore and Fire OS called Appstore Developer Select. The program is designed to give developers help with marketing.
Apps in the program get premium placement in the Amazon Appstore, 500,000 ad impressions on the Amazon Mobile Ad Network, and are automatically included in the Amazon Appstore Coins Reward category. These developers will also get credits which are equal to 25% off their first $2,000 in AWS services annual fees.
To qualify for the program, apps must be optimized for the Amazon Appstore and Fire OS. They must also include Amazon APIs, such as GameCircle, In-App Purchasing, and Mobile Ads. Optimized apps will render natively on Kindle devices without any stretching. Developers that are already working with Amazon will be automatically enrolled in the Appstore Developer Select program is their apps are optimized.
