Hi ThinkMobile readers - all the great mobile apps, devices and reviews are now a part of mediabistro's SocialTimes.com. Thanks for reading!

Amazon_MP3_Store.jpgAmazon MP3, the online music portal that so far has emerged as the only strong rival to Apple’s iTunes Store, has finally launched in the U.K., Macworld reports.

The store contains over 3 million Digital Rights Management (DRM)-free tracks, encoded at 256kbps, that can be played back on any cell phone, portable MP3 player, or computer with music player software. The tracks can also be transferred between computers and burned to CDs without restriction.

The store (both in the U.S. and the U.K.) also offers music tracks from all four major labels; currently, Apple is reported to be in negotiations to make this happen over here in the U.S., since currently the only label that offers DRM-free tracks through iTunes is EMI (through Apple’s iTunes Plus section).
