Amazon’s First Generation Kindle Paperwhite Now Has Goodreads Integration

1394242559-1394242559_goodreads_miscAmazon purchased Goodreads in March of 2013, adding Goodreads integration to new Kindle Paperwhite in November. Now, that feature is also available to users who have the First Generation Kindle Paperwhite.

This feature is currently available to US, Canada, and Australia, with no public plans for expansion to other countries. Goodreads fans can still access the personal library service through Goodread’s mobile apps, separate from Amazon’s Kindle app. If you haven’t seen the update that’s slowly rolling out, you can follow the manual update option here.

What can you do now that you have Goodreads on Kindle?

  • See what your Goodreads friends are reading
  • Share your favorite passages on Goodreads from inside the book
  • Rate books
  • See your want-to-read, currently reading, and read shelves
  • Add your Amazon book purchases to your Goodreads shelves, all without putting down your Kindle Paperwhite!
