Amazon’s MP3 Store is Now Optimized For iPhone

Amazon is taking on Apple in the content business. The online giant announced today that the Amazon MP3 store is now optimized specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch.

This comes six months after the release of the Amazon Cloud Player app for the iPhone. Listening to your Amazon music library on your iPhone requires a couple of steps. Users must purchase songs using the Amazon MP3 store on the Safari browser, then launch the app to listen.

“Since the launch of the Amazon Cloud Player app for iPhone and iPod touch, a top request from customers has been the ability to buy music from Amazon right from their devices. For the first time ever, iOS users have a way do that – now they can access Amazon’s huge catalog of music, features like personalized recommendations, deals like albums for $5, songs for $0.69, and they can buy their music once and use it everywhere,” explained Steve Boom, VP of Amazon Music, in a statement.
