AA_Eagle_tails_s.jpgAmerican Airlines has added a new mobile service for its loyal customers. The new feature, Remember Me, uses caller ID technology to recognize the phone numbers of the airline’s loyalty program members. When the service recognizes the incoming phone number, it automatically pulls up the traveler’s itinerary, greets the caller by name and delivers flight and gate info, according to Mobile Marketer.

Remember Me reportedly cuts down the response time for these callers from two-and-a-half minutes to 25-30 seconds.

AAdvantage members can register their cell phone, home and work numbers with the service, although we imagine Remember Me will be most useful to travelers stuck in traffic on the way to the airport or otherwise in transit.

The airline is also testing out mobile boarding passes using 2D barcodes at a few US airports.
