Hi ThinkMobile readers - all the great mobile apps, devices and reviews are now a part of mediabistro's SocialTimes.com. Thanks for reading!

American Airlines has launched a mobile version of its Web site that lets you do most of the things you can do on the desktop version. According to Mobile Marketer, travelers can now log on to the airline’s site from a Web-enabled phone and check in for a flight, check their itinerary or flight status, find weather and other information for the places they’re visiting and contact the airline.

One of the smartest things American did when making its site mobile was to configure it so that when you type in the http://www.aa.com URL, it knows if you’re accessing it from a phone. If so, it sends you to the scaled-down mobile version. Travelers with more advanced phones also have the option of clicking on a link on the mobile version that will take them to the PC version of the site.
