
Back when AOL purchased Bebo for the slightly-too-high price of $850 million, the company formed a new People Networks Division. According to CNET News, that division has now purchased Socialthing, a Boulder, CO-based site that aggregates social feeds from Digg, Twitter, Flickr, and other social networking sites. (This whole thing is starting to sound like a pyramid scheme.)
No financial details have been disclosed. “Getting bought was probably a good move for Socialthing,” the report said. “In recent months, Facebook has started to institute feed activity from other sites in its members’ news feeds, creating a potential threat to standalone aggregator services.”
