Not sure what’s going on between AOL and The Huffington Post? Luckily Taiwanese animated news series, Next Media Animation World Edition, has put together this helpful video that explains how AOL bought HuffPo. And I’m sure that this is exactly how everything went down.

NMA portrays mighty Arianna Huffington as a huge, flaming, influential green head…very Wizard of Oz. But despite HuffPo’s influence industry watchers have long questioned the publication’s profitability. AOL was once a dominant media force, but the animation shows that it has dwindled into something of a slapstick comedy with revenues dropping, Bebo attacking primate-style, and the company and it’s Internet outlets (Engadget, Moviefone, TechCrunch, etc.) out at sea in a shaky rowboat. Will Arianna and the Huffington Post be able to save AOL’s sinking ship or, NMA asks, will they both go down together? What’s your take on this silly animation, and on AOL’s purchase of the Huffington Post?
