The Associated Press just announced a deal with Chicago wireless carrier U.S. Cellular that will see the launch of two mobile Web sites, including one centered around the upcoming election, MediaPost reports.
The content distribution deal “offers a gateway to both AP’s Mobile News Network, which provides international, national and local news, and AP Elections ’08 coverage,” the report said, adding that the sites are accessible through U.S. Cellular’s easyedge To Go and nWeb browser.
Alan Ferber, vice president of sales operations and chief marketing officer for U.S. Cellular, said in the article that more than six million customers in 26 states can visit the new AP mobile sites. Of course, you can still check out the AP Mobile News Network on any cell phone by keying in www.apnews.com in your cell phone’s Web browser.
