Editor & Publisher reports that at its annual meeting today, the Associated Press unveiled the Mobile News Network, a way for its member newspapers to deliver local and national news to smartphones including, naturally, the iPhone.
“The Mobile News Network will provide a national platform for smartphone users to access local content from brands they trust,” AP president and CEO Tom Curley said during his presentation at the meeting. The network gives AP members a way to provide local news to the mobile community – and support it with mobile advertising.
According to E&P, the Mobile News Network is currently in its test phase.
