Apartments.com Goes Mobile

If you’re looking for a new apartment, Apartments.com announced that it has made its three million apartment listings from managed communities, private landlords and newspaper classifieds available to renters through any web-enabled mobile device, letting folks find their next apartment in the “palm of their hand.” (Sounds heavy.)

The company said in a statement that the new mobile site is WAP-formatted for easy access by any recent mobile device with a Web browser. As before, Apartments.com also offers renters a “Send2Phone” feature that lets renters can send information about an apartment listing from the desktop Apartments.com Web site to their mobile phones as a text message—which still makes sense if you’ve been browsing the regular site on your desktop PC.
