It was announced today at the keynote speech at Macworld Expo 2009 that there are some pretty significant changes going on with iTunes. They are now going DRM Free as well as changing their single-price guidelines. There will be three price tiers for songs: .69 cents, .99 cents, and $1.29 and with most albums still priced at $9.99. These price changes will go into effect in April 2009.

Starting today 8 million songs will become DRM free and by the end of the quarter, all 10 million songs in the iTunes library will be DRM Free.

It was also announced that iPhones will now be able to download songs over the 3G network as opposed to only in Wi-Fi enabled hotspots. The 3G download capabilities starts today as well.
