If you take a look at the free iPhone app…
…in Apple’s iTunes App Store, you’ll see that the app’s developer clearly views this as an entertainment app and offers the following disclaimer:
NOTICE: This is for entertainment purposes only. The software does not really find the virus by any means and should not be taken seriously.
But, guess which category Apple placed this app in? Yep, it is in the Medical apps category. And, at the moment, it is the third most popular free medical iPhone app.
It is already difficult enough trying to sort through the tens of thousands of iPhone apps. Apple really needs to provide more accurate categorization and develop some kind of app discovery tool.
