My personal opinion of what a modern tablet computer is goes something like this: A netbook sized device (or slightly smaller) without a physical keyboard. Its screen size can be between 5 and 10 inches. Aside from the lack of a physical keybaord, it is functionally equivalent to a netbook type device.
The Archos 5 with its 800×400 resolution 4.8 inch LCD screen and 60GB (or larger) hard drive physically seems to meet the physical part of my idea of a netbook.
But, Gizmodo notes an issue with the way the Archos’ Android provided browser works…
Archos 5 Internet Tablet Hands On: Android Power, But Where’s the Flash?
The problem is that the Archos looks like it should be a near-full function computing device but behaves more like an Android smartphone when its web browser is used. Ouch.
