Arnold Schwarzenegger Is The Governator In New Web Series & 3D Feature

After eight years as governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back to his old killer cyborg ways.  Now that he’s stepped down from his job as Governor, Arnold told Entertainment Weekly that it’s back to movie making for him.  He announced that he will be starring in a fun new animated TV and web series in 2012—The Governator.

Arnold told Entertainment Weekly, “When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator’, I thought the word was so cool.  The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world.  And [this cartoon] brings everything together.  It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies…

And you know this series is going to be awesome because comic genius Stan Lee is collaborating on it, as co-developer.  He told EW, “The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Schwarzenegger.  We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life.  We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver].  We’re using his kids.  We’re using the fact that he used to be governor.  Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”

In addition to the web series, The Governator is getting an animated TV show and comic book as well and, according to Hollywood.com, a 3D feature film.  The first trailer for The Governator has just been released and you can check it out below.

The Governator should serve as a much-needed antidote for the Action Schwarzenegger Withdrawal that many of us have been feeling since he took his position as Governor of California.  We’ve been watching Terminator, True Lies, Total Recall, Collateral Damage, Last Action Hero and Kindergarten Cop again and again, trying to cling to the awesomeness of Arnold.  Well, he always said ‘I’ll Be Back’ and now he is.  And we can’t wait to see the Governator in action, and we can’t wait to find out what’s coming next!
