As Instagram Pulls Support for Displaying Photos on Twitter, Pinterest Adds It

pinterest, twitter, twitter cards, photo sharing, social networks, social networkingPinterest recently deepened its Twitter integration, allowing photos shared on Pinterest to be viewed within the Twitter stream, Pinterest confirmed.

The move came just a few days after before Instagram’s decision to pull support for in-stream display on Twitter. Twitter subsequently launched its own photo filters for mobile apps.

Update: Pinterest said a limited test of the feature was launched last Monday. Instagram pulled its integration on Wednesday.

With its apparent competition with Instagram, Pinterest hints that it wants to see more photos that users have taken themselves on its platform, which is commonly used to aggregate photos from around the Web.

The change was first noted by user Kelly Liebeman on her blog and subsequently reported by GigaOm. SocialTimes independently confirmed the functionality.

We’ve reached out to Pinterest for more information and will update this post if get it.
