One of the highest profile celebrity couples to take to Twitter to connect with fans (or just vent a little) are Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The duo, who can be followed at @aplusk and @mrskutcher, each joined this month (Moore this week) and have been active on the social networking site.

There’s Kutcher doing movie research (“need info on assassins for my next movie roll. any links?”), Moore learning the ropes (“I am learning something new everyday on twitter! thanks twitterers!”) and general sappiness (“@mrskutcher miss you baby”).

But today, things got serious (not really) — Kutcher was woken up by his “owl feces cougar placenta jack bone dick” neighbor who had construction going on early in the morning. Then he posted a video to Qik.com expressing his displeasure. His wife was there to calm him down (via Twitter): “baby keep it together there should only be another 5 months of this.”

So what’s the reason for the open-book relationship? To peel-back-the-curtain for fans, an anti-paparazzi strategy or…is Twitter just the next big thing for celebs?
