There’s not much here just yet, but MocoNews is reporting that AT&T will preload a banking application onto its handsets. The app supports the following banks so far:
Wachovia
SunTrust
BancorpSouth
FirstBank
Synovus
Regions Financial Corporation
America First Credit Union
Arvest Bank Group
From your phone, you can pay bills, transfer funds, and of course view balances from your accounts. As MocoNews points out, this is all well and good, but until the carriers pick up all the top name banks, this is little more than a novelty that few people will be able to take advantage of. At least it’s not that unsafe to do so.
