AT&T YouveGotACase Campaign Helps Youths Plead a Case on Facebook for a New Smartphone

If you don’t want to buy a new smartphone for yourself, AT&T has a viral marketing campaign that lets you use a Facebook app on your desktop or smartphone that lets you build a case (as in a mock “legal case”) to convince someone you designate to buy a phone for you.

Facebook Fans in Need of a New Smartphone for the Holidays Have a New Ally

The target audience is the youth market. The Facebook app uses the user’s profile to build a case that demonstrates why the person being plead to should buy an AT&T smartphone for the pleader. The “attorney” (played by comedian/actor Will Arnett) brings in expert witnesses and likes from Facebook friends of the person pleading for a smartphone helps build support for the case.

Pointing your desktop browser at http://www.youvegotacase.com/ takes you directly to the campaign’s Facebook page where the case for a new smartphone begins. However, pointing a mobile browser at http://m.youvegotacase.com/ takes the user to a non-Facebook website to start the same process.
