Thumbplay is making it easier for consumers to search the more than 1.5 million mobile content items available on its Web site and through its distribution partners. The content portal has inked a deal to incorporate Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) for enhanced search.
AIE gives Thumbplay a single search platform that works across Thumbplay’s distribution network and is designed to support huge search volumes, frequent content updates and query-based recommendations. AIE also supports real-time content ingestion so Thumbplay is able to get new items up on its service within milliseconds of them being added to its catalog, the companies say.
