North Americans pay more for cell phone service

Um, ok, I think most of us probably suspected we pay more than people in other countries for our cell phone service. The average prices quoted for the US looks low to me. But, this probably because most cell phone users are using feature phones without data service. Here’s the annual prices listed:

- US $635.85
- Spain $508.26
- Canada $500.63 (but aren’t their data plans super expensive?)
- Sweden $137.94
- Netherlands and Finland: $131.44

And, if you are a iPhone user on the AT&T network, the lowest annual cost available for it is: $840. Ouch.
