BendDesk Combines Touch Screen & Office Desk

Microsoft Surface introduced table-top touchscreens to the world and made everyone wish they had ten grand to spare. But as cool as that was to see, how would you like an alternative that you could use sitting down?

That is where BendDesk comes in. For the past several years a team of researchers at Aachen University in Germany have been working on a new way to overcome the traditional divide between input and output. Yes, touchscreens are old hat, but how often have you seen one that starts on the desk in front of you and stretches up the wall – and lets you slide your fingers from the horizontal to vertical segments smoothly?

The BendDesk still requires a lot of hardware on a custom built frame, but it is cool to see nonetheless.
