It’s hard to avoid the kindling puns—so we understand why Wired didn’t. The magazine reports that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that their Kindle book reader is on fire: “Kindle is, in terms of demand, is outpacing our expectations [...] We’re working very hard to increase the number of units that we can build and supply per week.”
This announcement comes right after the report that Amazon will be buying audiobook company Audible for $300 million. As Wired notes, it suddenly makes a lot of sense why the Kindle has that built-in MP3 player that no one thought would be of any use.
