I’ve never used a BlackBerry. So, in general, I only note a BlackBerry related item here when it catches my personal interest. So, when I saw this subject line in The Boy Genius Report…
BlackBerry OS 5.0 to have tabbed browsing
…I wanted to read it since I thought that on the ancient Windows Mobile browser (it hasn’t been updated significantly in several platform generations) was tab-less. However, if I’m reading this correctly, the BlackBerry has had tabbed browsing capabilities for a couple of years. The problem, apparently, is that it doesn’t work very well with more than two open tabs. RIM’s OS 5.0 update apparently does much to fix this issue.
In the meantime, Windows Mobile users have to resort to using utilities to hack IE mobile to get tabbed browsing. I haven’t really looked into this since IE Mobile’s inability to effectively render many conventional web pages renders it useless for me.
