British Library To Release ‘eBook Treasures’ For iPad

The British Library has a new eBook series for readers that are nostalgic about old texts. Beginning with Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Arundel and Mercator’s Atlas, the library is releasing original manuscripts from its collection.

To bring the ancient texts to life, a company called Armadillo Systems, has formatted these texts with interactive content including video and audio. The are currently available in the iBookstore.

The library has plans to release similar eBooks for old texts from Lewis Carroll, Jane Austen and William Blake.
