Bryan Monroe Joins CNN as Editor of CNNPolitics.com

CNNPolitics.com has a new editor: Bryan Monroe, formerly a visiting professor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Prior to Northwestern, Monroe served as vice president and editorial director for Ebony and Jet, and he is also a former president of the National Association of Black Journalists.

At CNNPolitics.com, he will lead editorial planning and content strategy for online and mobile coverage from CNN’s Washington, D.C., bureau.

CNN.com vice president and managing editor Meredith Artley said:

Bryan is an outstanding addition to the talented CNNPolitics.com team, and also to CNN’s D.C. bureau, including Sam Feist, Edith Chapin, and their teams. His experience and leadership will expand and deepen our political reporting across CNN.com, The Political Ticker, and all of our mobile products.

Monroe added:

I am thrilled to be joining CNN and the nation’s best political team, particularly at a time when political coverage is at the front and center of the national conversation. Helping extend those conversations across the Web and mobile devices is an exciting challenge.
