Byliner, the online publisher that releases short fiction and non-fiction stories, has launched an iPad app. Byliner’s stories are short enough to read on your coffee break, or your subway ride to work. “Think of us as dim sum for hungry minds,” the website boasts.

The app gives subscribers unlimited access to Byliner’s curated library of stories. The digital publishing platform includes stories from authors including: Nick Hornby, Ann Patchett, Carl Hiaasen, Jane Smiley, Jon Krakauer, and Margaret Atwood. The site publishes exclusive stories every week. In January, the company began running Atwood’s original series Positron, for instance.

iPad users can search the app by author, topic, or by how much time they have to read to find stories to read. Subscriptions cost $9.99 a month.
