After seven years since it first launched, the eBook management tool calibre has released a Version 1.0 update.

The update brings about new features including the ability to convert Microsoft Word files into  ePUB or AZW3 files. In addition, calibre has rewritten its PDF Output engine supporting pagination, the insertion of headers and footers with templates, and the ability to auto create a Table of Contents. The library feature has also been redesigned. Here is more from the site:

Virtual Libraries allow you to easily partition your large calibre library into smaller, “virtual” libraries. A virtual library is a way to tell calibre to open only a subset of a normal library. For example, you might want to only work with books by a certain author, or books having only a certain tag. To use this feature, click the button labeled Virtual Library to the left of the search bar.
