Every year Forbes magazine singles out 30 entrepreneurs under 30 years old who are out changing the world before they’re even old enough to run for president. Topping the list this year is Swedish entrepreneur Daniel Ek, whose digital music service Spotify has won the hearts of music lovers worldwide while working toward a more sustainable business model for the music industry.

Unless you’ve been living in a bird-free zone, you know that Twitter recently overhauled their home page. The new page allows people to see shared videos, links and photos directly within the stream of Twitter by clicking the ‘open’ button. Photos are expanded, videos are displayed and even links to text articles are expanded into small snippets of the original source. I worry that this is going to take its toll and put pressure on services like Tumblr.

Vkontakte, one of the largest social networks in Russia, has been asked by a consortium of Russian producers to pull down a bunch of content uploaded by its users. The uploading of illegal content is always a hot topic once a social network comes of age and demands enough attention, and this news can be attributed to the growing pains of the still expanding Vkontakte network.

The folks at RecordSetter have put together this extremely interesting infographic looking at 2011 World Records for social media. It looks at various networks including Facebook and Tumblr, and also has some statistics on games. Take a look below.

Infographics about sharing run rampant on the web, but every year the folks at clearspring, the makers of the popular “AddThis” widget, tally up all the shares they’ve seen over the last year and give the world some interesting statistics about what’s working and what’s not. This year’s infographic has a lot of interesting elements, including the reveal that Tumblr sharing continues to grow exponentially.
