Cute CatHaven’t been paying attention to the news about the BP Oil Spill? Now you can get caught up in one minute with a new YouTube video in which the spill is re-enacted by cats. The juxtaposition of adorable cats, which everybody loves, and evil British Petroleum, who nobody loves right now, is pure genius. If you haven’t seen this clip yet, you must!

‘The BP Oil Spill Re-Enacted By Cats in 1 Minute’ is brought to you by Tremendous News. Tremendous News has been on a roll with cat re-enactments over the past couple of weeks. The first in their series was a Lost Re-enactment, followed by a GLEE Re-enactment. The BP Oil Spill Re-enactment already has over 88,600 views since it was uploaded over the weekend.

Tremendous News’ Oil Spill Re-enactment is causing a stir, with 240 comments so far. Some people think the video is hilarious, while others are upset by the fact that the video makes a joke of a situation that is not at all funny. The video’s ending is a slap in the face to many so-called “environmental supporters”, as a closing title reads, “You’re not mad enough not to drive your car.” We can whine about BP all we want, but the truth of the matter is as long as we keep driving our cars and consuming oil we aren’t really helping matters.

What do you think of the cat re-enactment of the oil spill? Do you think it portrays the spill fairly and appropriately?
