CBS has struck a deal with Verizon to offer content from CBS programming to Verizon Wireless’ V-Cast and FiOS TV services. The deal has been described as a long-term partnership between the companies, with Verizon having Video On Demand rights to CBS shows such as 60 Minutes, CSI, NCIS and Survivor. Verizon V-Cast had been running shorter-form content from CBS shows heretofore, this deal will give them the ability to show full-length content on mobile devices.
This news comes on the heels of other news that CBS is gearing up to take on NBC/Fox joint venture Hulu with their site TV.com.
Still no word on the availability of The Big Bang Theory, one of the hottest shows on CBS, which is not available online or off in any form. Fans of the wacky exploits of Shelden, Leonard and the gang will have to continue to find the shows elsewhere.
