Even Celebrities Look Stupid Fighting With Ex’s Online

LeAnn Rimes has got herself into another Twitter row—this time with her ex-husband Dean Sheremet. And she didn’t even really do anything.

The fight itself is completely pointless, but it does serve as an object lesson on how not to deal with snide comments on Twitter.

And if celebrities fighting online look this stupid – how do you think YOU look?

Let’s take the initial post:

When you consider the image as well as the comment, Leann seems to be the real butt of the joke (as she did).

So most people would assume, from her reply, that she was cringing at the photo and laughing off the “chubby” jibe.

But not her ex.

Okay, so maybe Leann should have been a bit more sensitive, considering she left him for the man she was having an affair with.

And she probably should have known that the internet would swiftly fall into two camps here: those who had forgotten she existed until all this, and those who still hate her for cheating. Because we all know the internet is the land of eternal grudges.

It would have been far more sensible to just ignore the whole thing – and so should you. Who cares if a stranger on Twitter thinks you looked stupid in your wedding dress? What are you going to gain from replying?

But negative publicity is better than nothing for a forgotten celebrity, apparently.

She did make things right in the end. Although we’re still not entirely sure what she did wrong. It was a joke. She’d have looked stupid by feeding the troll by responding with “Dean isn’t gay!” – so that’s why ignoring it is the only sensible strategy.

Though, by far, the BEST strategy would be to block those contentious ex’s – just wash those discarded memories right out of your hair. You won’t be able to creep on them anymore, but think of all the time (and pointless aggravation) you’ll save!
