The Wall Street Journal reports that French luxury-goods company Christian Dior Wednesday will unveil a line of mobile phones, extending beyond its traditional fashion business to boost sales—particularly with brand-hungry consumers in newer markets such as China and Russia.
The report said that the new phone will cost a jaw-dropping 3,500 EUR ($5,000). It will presumably go after other custom phones by companies such as Prada and Juicy Coutre, though none of them have played in such a high price bracket to date.
