CircleMe Integrates with Songkick So You’ll Forget All About Yahoo-Acquired Stamped

Stamped competitor CircleMe has integrated with Songkick’s private API to give users updates when their favorite bands are playing near them.

CircleMe gives users away to bookmark their interests and meet other like-minded people to trade recommendations and make future plans. Launched in October 2011, CircleMe is a product of Cascaad, which also created the Cascaad Reader and Splice.

Songkick indexes ticket vendors, local newspapers, and venue websites to fill its database with upcoming shows from all over the world. The site also has a catalogue of more than 1 million historic concerts dating back to the 1960′s.

On October 25, 2012, Yahoo! announced that it acquired CircleMe’s biggest competitor, Stamped, in order to build a new center for mobile product development in New York City.

“As the Yahoo! acquisition means Stamped will be sunsetted at the end of the year, we want to become the first choice for people to not only collect their favorite things, but also be updated about them,” said CircleMe marketing manager Javier Galan via email. “The integration with Songkick, the leading live concerts tracker, is the first step towards achieving this.”
