CNNMoney Redesign Boasts Greater Social Media Integration, Tablet Compatibility

The new homepage rolled out Monday by CNNMoney was designed to more closely integrate the Web, mobile, and tablet platforms, as well as boosting social media integration, and the site also announced new partnerships with StockTwits and SigFig.

On the social media front, the redesigned CNNMoney site offers enhanced sharing options for Facebook and Twitter, along with integrating Disqus as its commenting platform. In addition, users can sort content by popularity, choosing stories are trending on CNNMoney or across social media platforms.

The new site also includes a beta Web-based tablet view, expanded markets coverage (including a new interactive tracker), new article elements (including quote bubbles and the ability to lead with video), a hand-curated video homepage, expanded ad units, and the ability for users to sign up for news and stock alerts, watch lists, and newsletters.

As a result of the partnership with StockTwits, CNNMoney will offer editorial content from the investing community social network’s bloggers, and revenue will be shared from advertising shared across the two sites.

As for SigFig, an upcoming portfolio tool from Wikinvest, it will be available exclusively on CNNMoney and SigFig when it launches in June, syncing with readers’ brokerage accounts, helping them track and analyze their holdings, and recommending ways to invest better. Users will be able to create and edit mock portfolios and watch lists, set alerts, track news, and view performance and fees across all their accounts.
