College Humor’s Ricky Van Veen: “How Do You Stay Relevant In The Comedy World?”

If you’ve ever laughed your ace off watching a random Jake and Amir skit your friend showed you, you’ve probably went on to watch the entire series.  It’s that good.  With millions of views, a successful Tumblr page and two of the most recognizable web-based comedy talents ever, there’s no doubt it’s a massive success.  And it’s all thanks to College Humor.

We here at Social Times started wondering about the wheels that turn behind the scene over at CH, and specifically wanted to talk to the guy who sits down, puts pen to paper and funds these skits.  Fortunately for us, Ricky Van Veen, one of the co-founders of College Humor, came into the mediabistro offices here in New York to be part of our Media Beat series and discuss how things move along at CH, and it turned out to be a ton of fun.

Thanks to Andrew Gauthier and Dianna Ekins for all the video magic on this one.
