ComiXology App Updated for The New iPad’s Screen

App developers have been working overtime to update their app for the new high-res retina display found on the new iPad, and ComiXology is no exception. They’ve just released an update that makes full use of every pixel on the new iPad and adds support for a new higher quality digital comics.

It’s difficult to see the difference in the small leaf photo, so check out the larger one at the end of the post. I think you’ll be impressed.

You’ll need to update the app the usual way, but after you have done so you’ll be prompted to download the new “CMX-HD” format. There are about 125 issues  available in the new format, and they include all issues released last week. All future issues will also be released in the new format, and Comixology is planning to make publisher’s entire back catalogs available in CMX-HD within a few months. You’ll be able to download old issues in the new format at no extra cost.
