YouTube “Internetainers” Rhett & Link, known for their Drive-Thru raps and folk songs, awesome t-shirt stop motion, and more, now have their own television show!  ‘Commercial Kings’ follows Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal across the country as they create epic local commercials for local businesses.  The show premieres this Friday, June 24, on IFC.

Rhett & Link aren’t new to local commercials.  In fact, they’ve been making them for a couple of years now.  Since 2008, Rhett and Link have been creating hilarious local commercial parodies for real businesses, and the videos have been used as real advertisements.  ‘Commercial Kings’ will document the process that Rhett & Link go through and what goes into them making their local commercials.  Each episode will, of course, culminate in an actual local commercial.

Rhett & Link announced their new IFC television show back in March in a video on their YouTube channel.  They tell their fans, “Thank you, because you guys have supported us from the very beginning…It’s because of you that we are able to have an opportunity like this.”  They are sure, of course, to point out that just because they’ve hit it big with their own television show they aren’t bidding farewell to YouTube.  “We’re going to continue to make regular YouTube videos.”

Check out the announcement below and then read on to see some of the hilarious local commercials that Rhett & Link have put together so you get an idea of the shenanigans you can expect from ‘Commercial Kings’.

The show premieres on Friday at 10/9c on IFC.  Find out more on the IFC Rhett & Link page.  And on that note, let’s take a look at the hilarious local commercials that Rhett & Link have put together over the past couple of years.  You can check them all out in their ‘R&L Local Commercials’ playlist, which is embedded below.

I’m super excited for this.  Rhett & Link’s local commercials are hilarious, and I can only imagine that the “making of” process is pretty hilarious as well.  Are you excited for the premiere of ‘Commercial Kings?  Let us know in the comments below.
