Daily Show Co-Creator Posts Serious Video about Roe v. Wade

“Daily Show” co-creator Lizz Winstead has posted a video on YouTube to remind viewers about the state of women’s health on the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade: the United States Supreme Court’s landmark decision on the issue of abortion.

Although the news show she co-founded on Comedy Central is known for its satirical take on the headlines, Winstead’s message in this video is serious.

Abortion might not be illegal, she says, but access to family planning services are scarce. Right now, there are four states with only one surgical abortion clinic, while state-level anti-abortion laws are on the rise.
